Opened in 1825, the University Of Birmingham received a royal charter in 1900, making it the first red-brick university to do so. Since then, the university has become known for its world-leading research – the invention of the cavity magnetron was invented at the university; among other examples – and academics.
As of 2022, around 35,000 students attend the university. Many of these students study fields related to medicine and science. Out of all the students who attend the University Of Birmingham, 87% of them enter graduate-level employment or pursue further study within 6-months of graduating.
